Maternity Portraits at Jacob Riis Park

Elaine got in touch about shooting some maternity portraits with her husband Fred at their happy place, Jacob Riis Park. We met right before sunset so they were bathed in golden hour light, and strolled around the mostly empty beach. Toward the end, we stopped for some Ample Hills ice cream, their favorite!

It was so much fun for me to get to shoot on a beach! It’s pretty rare, since most of my sessions are in-home or around the city. Riis Park is by far the cleanest, prettiest beach in NYC. In late 2020 when I was pregnant and had been stuck indoors for months on end due to the covid lockdown, one of my favorite memories is going to Riis Park and flying a kite with some friends.
