The J Family | NYC Family Photographer

I’ve been invited to take portraits of the J family three times, once for each year little Jacob has been alive! Without hesitation, when asked I always say that my favorite part of my job is when I get to watch a family grow – both in age, and sometimes in the number of members! When there’s a year between shoots, it’s especially fun with small kids because they change SO MUCH, so quickly.

I met Jacob when he was around 5 months old, and our session strategy has been different for each shoot – but the one thing that has never really worked with him is forcing him to pose in any way. I get a real workout with Jacob, running around crouching and following and shooting, but nothing like what his parents get chasing him all over Fort Tryon Park!  Luckily we were able to take frequent breaks, for Jacob to stop at the water fountains and cool off 😉
